Almanac Footy: Little Nostradamus

 

Last week I wrote about the six teams whom I saw play during a weekend in Melbourne and ruminated as to what positions they would fill at the end of the season.

 

Our other Nostradamus picked his teams in all 18 places which made me feel quite insecure.

 

My analytical mind had worked out that I would be able to follow another six teams last week and six teams this week.  No such luck as the full-time brains who draw up the fixture at AFL House had come up with the ridiculous opening draw for the first four weeks.  Never mind the punters like me whose livelihood is working out winning teams.

 

It won’t happen next year that is a sure bet, you can get on now!

 

Without any words, here are the positions of all 18 sides for 2026.This is as they finish at the end of the home and away.

 

1   Tricolours

2   Crows

3   Bloods

4   *GCS

5   Gorillas

6   Mayblooms

7   Pivotonians

8   Dockers

9   Fuschias

10  Carringbush

11  ***GWS 

12  Seagulls

13  Cockledivers

14  Butchers

15  Eagles

16  Shinboners

17  Wasps

18  **The Same Olds

 

* Little respect for those hybrid teams of GWS and GCS – as they have been propped up by the AFL.

 

**  They certainly are (sorry BC)
