Almanac Footy: Hair raiser!

Hair Raiser!

The Barossa is beautiful on a brilliant autumn afternoon, especially when the boys are kicking the pigskin around and the netball is being played on the neighbouring asphalt courts.

Distinctive and dashing, Angaston Panthers midfielder Ryan Carnelly with ball in hand has been one of the stars of BLG so far this season.

During the pre-season this footballer/surfer drove up to the Gold Coast to catch some waves with Suns talent Jez McLennan, who played his junior footy with Tanunda.

About to lay a tackle is Gawler Central evergreen veteran, the dread-locked Jake Asher in his landmark 250th BLG A grade game for the Tigers.

I experienced 2 Saturdays of Great Flinders Footy/Netty League the last two weeks. Most enjoyable. Had intended to develop an article on it for the site but unfortunately other priorities took precedence.
