Almanac (Footy) Art: Not another bloody ‘Art of Football’ exhibition!

And we thought that Citrus Bob and his travelling ‘The Art of Football’ exhibitions had finished for good…
Not so. True to form he has come out of retirement again and will curate his first exhibition in South-West New South Wales in Balranald.

Known as ‘The Gallery’ the Balranald Art Gallery was established over thirty seven years ago. Originally the Masonic Lodge the building dates back to 1880 and is one of the oldest buildings still standing in Balranald.
The ‘Art of Football Exhibition’ will run from April 1st to May 1st and the gallery will be open daily during that time.
Well-known Almanac artists in Kate Birrell, Susan Sutton, Kendra Heil, Shantelle Perry, Naomi Le Get, Peter Baulderstone, Jim Pavlidis, D.J.Williams plus others will have original art works on display.

At 86 years of age Citrus Bob is doing what he has always done since growing up on a small farm at Lang Lang. Talking, watching and writing sport and in recent years writing books. He lives in Mildura with his very considerate wife (Jenny) and a groodle named ‘Chloe on Flinders’ and can be found at Deakin 27 every day.

Wooden statues by Megan Cheyne are part of a series of seven. The Show has been extended for a further 2 weeks and it hasn’t even opened yet!
