Almanac Books: ‘The One That Got Away: Travelling in the Time of Covid’ by Ken Haley

Ken Haley has travelled to 143 countries, and added to the number in 2020, planning a tour of the Caribbean island states and Central America. A widely published writer, he has written two previous books, Emails from the Edge: A Journey Through Troubled Times and Europe @ 2.4km/h. His third book, which is just out, covers his experience of travel during this pandemic.

As it did to many, Coronavirus worked to derail Ken’s plans, having successfully explored Cuba before the pandemic exploded worldwide. Ken, a well-experienced wheelchair adventurer, decided to push on. An issue of timing and a global interruption of an unprecedented level gave way to one of Ken’s greatest adventures, and a unique, rare experience of travel during these challenging times.

His book The One That Got Away: Travelling in the Time of Covid is published today (Nov 1). You can read more about Ken’s book HERE.

It can be purchased from his publisher Transit Lounge HERE, and is available through Booktopia and in bookshops.
