Almanac AFL Predictions: Why Carlton are certs in 2023

The same Sherrin (2012)
The other day I received this email from the world’s best newsagent/post office man who plies his trade from the High Street next to the Westgarth Cinema.
Dear John
Here is a great but short article for your website on the 2023 AFL season. A little known statistic that has always delivered the flag to Ikon Park!!
The final piece of the jigsaw puzzle fell into place a couple of weeks ago for the Carlton Football Club’s 2023 premiership charge.
Darcy Moore was appointed Captain of the Collingwood Football Club for season 2023. His father, Peter Moore also captained the Collingwood Football Club in 1981 and 1982 before he was traded to Melbourne. In both 1981 and 1982 Carlton won the flag.
A search of former Collingwood Captains shows that every year the Pies (since they were formed in 1892) are captained by a player with the surname “Moore” Carlton has won the flag.
This statistic goes back 132 years and has never failed to deliver the flag to the Bluebaggers. 132 years of history cannot be ignored.
I look forward to a memorable season.
Regards
G. Grossek

Outstanding!! The numbers don’t lie. Put your house on the Blues.
Irrefutable logic based on absolutely established empirical evidence – as an editor, I fact checked the claim! Now that this is out in the open for all to see, I’m interested to know what, if any, impact this is having on the betting markets for Season 2023?
