AFL Round 7 – Fremantle v Collingwood (Haiku Bob): nowhere to go

twilight game
our mid-season slump begins

the sun makes its exit seven goals down

Dockers surge
the sky turns purple
behind the scoreboard

the fallen sun
and now Pendlebury
with nowhere to go

rising moon –
the gaping hole
in the back half

a log spits and flares Heater lashes out

autumn stillness
the speedster
lies motionless

For many years June was ordinary for Collingwood! Love the atmospheric “rising moon.”
