twilight game
our mid-season slump begins
early
the sun makes its exit seven goals down
Dockers surge
the sky turns purple
behind the scoreboard
the fallen sun
and now Pendlebury
with nowhere to go
rising moon –
the gaping hole
in the back half
a log spits and flares Heater lashes out
autumn stillness
the speedster
lies motionless

About rob scott
Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.
For many years June was ordinary for Collingwood! Love the atmospheric “rising moon.”
