  1. Mark Duffett says

Hope you’re wrong about this. I’ve gone the other way on 3 out of the first 4.

  2. Peter Flynn says

I was half expecting the Swans to be drawn to play Korweinguboora next week.

Lo and behold, they finally start to play the big boys. About time.

    This (fix)ture is a joke.

The bigger joke is that we just accept it.

  3. Peter_B says

Too right Flynny. Swans have the softest draw since Black Caviar. Peter Moody must be doing the Swans fixture.

  4. In a round where the median tipping outcome was nine from nine, John Harms was spot on!
He’s good, but how good was he?

    Richmond v Geelong
    JTH: Geelong by 15 points.
Outcome: Geelong by 46 points. A slip, there. I think John was being tentative about the quality of his own own team [-31]

Outcome: Freo by 35 points [-18]

    Sydney v Brisbane

NIne from nine but still 193 points away from perfection or an average of 21.4 points adrift per game in Round Six.
That’s not bad at all, John Harms. I’m impressed.

In the footyalmanac 2013 tipping comp at footytips.com.au, 24 of the 55 tipsters achieved nine from nine this week and three of those picked the perfect margin for Game One. Eleven of the 55 were within four points for the correct margin for Game One. That’s stunning. We are a smart mob.

In 2014, one of the hundreds of online footy tipping comps could think about mounting a competition where you have to pick the margin for every game, not just the first game. They could offer a huge prize, $500,000 or something, if anyone manages the hole in one. And charge punters $1 each week to enter. Now there is a goldmine of a thought. Anyone reading this is welcome to pick it up if they are willing to send me 1% of their turnover. Half of the proceeds of that contract will go to the maintenance of this site – the rest will purchase a vat of champagne.
