AFL Round 2 – Collingwood v Geelong: Haiku Bob – Down to the Wire

down to the wire my thinning hair

April moon

through cloud –

a long bomb to nowhere

autumn colour

a goal

from a blue

autumn wind

and Macaffer too

in Johnson’s face

where there’s no-one Elliot marks

autumn wind

all night Harry

twisting, turning

forced to kick

the backman with a wonky boot

scores a goal

one or two green leaves

Collingwood

not dead yet

last minute loss

the long walk

to the station
