football season –
a bleak afternoon
turns brilliant
winter clouds slowly finding form
heavy underfoot
the Bombers
losing ground
blanket of cloud
before you know it
5 goals clear
drug rumours
the Bombers
can’t settle
steady rain
Pendlebury running
smoothly
nearing spring
an old dream
returns
About rob scott
Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.
Love the dual meanings in haiku. “Can’t settle”. “Finding form”. Context gives them so many different meanings and points of reference for the reader – footy, life and nature.
Thanks HB
Love it HB. Beautiful stuff! I was back at the game visualising it all.
