Almanac Cricket (Commentary): A word on that game by Les Everett
Here’s a poem I wrote in honour of the word THAT has taken over the world of sport commentary. This week I heard someone on radio say, “Rabada brings that pace and that aggression.”
If you don’t mute the commentators have a listen to them during the Brisbane Test and maybe do a THAT count.

That off stump
That front foot
That short boundary
That first innings
That slower ball
That uneven bounce
That inside edge
That third slip
That backward point
That old ball
That reverse swing
That bottom hand
That slips cordon
That quick single
That short ball
That late movement
That on-side
That change of pace
That in-swing
That new ball
That target
That opening stand
That short third man
That long tail
That no ball
That early wicket
That long spell
That middle peg
That front pad
That second new ball
That fading light
That back foot
That declaration
That close-in field
That final ball
