Almanac Footy History: The Goalpost Final

Last Sunday, broadcaster Matthew Nicholson told the story of the 1967 Tasmanian state premiership between Wynyard and North Hobart on ABC Grandstand. It’s one of the most famous footy games in Australian history – and in this fiftieth anniversary year the tale deserves to be told and re-told. The version by Shane Johnson, published here, of it is a cracker. It comes from Footy Town which Malarkey Publications put out a few years ago.
