Winning and weddings

I’m baaaaaaaccccck!

I know right?

Where have I been?

What am I up to?

What have I been doing all this time?

Well there’s a simple answer for my disappearance (actually there’s a few).

First off I can’t be shy in saying my Collingwood boys who I adore so much just haven’t inspired me to write for a long, long time. Not playing the blame game here but this is a footy blog after all.

To explain my second reason I’d like to refer to the saying – “it takes a village” which normally is in reference to raising a child. But no what I’m doing doesn’t require a village in fact it requires a country. “It takes a country to plan a wedding.”

No you haven’t heard wrong Alex Fasolo is not engaged and yes here I am saying that I am in fact planning my wedding to someone else (shout out to my fiance Christian!) By the way Fas if you’re reading this you have until November to change your mind. (Christian you didn’t read that!)

All this time I have been hiding in a tunnel under mountains of wedding dress tulle waiting for Collingwood to actually make me feel excited enough to log onto this great website and write.

When I’m not working full time long hours as a medical receptionist I’m being a full time wedding planner.

Weekends are spent in wedding dress fittings (because we all know this princess was never going to find something off the rack) invitation designing, flower arranging, cake confirming, ugh the bridesmaid dress doesn’t come in that color! What do you mean you’ve already booked 2 brides for that day?!….”omg what time is Collingwood playing?! Quick we gotta go before they start!”

I need a wine.

Ahhhhhh 4 terms of serenity away from the wedding madness.

Brodie Grundy, BROOODENCE has Collingwood ever seen such an effective tall ruckman type since Leigh Brown? This guy can do no wrong. The people love him and I mean man crush galore. Did you guys see the love for him on this website! He’s doing everything right.

Varcoe. I have to admit I didn’t warm up to him right away. After all he was a Cat trying to be a Magpie but now when I see him swooping all over the ground I’m like thank God and thankyou Geelong!

And what about the head of hair on young Sam Murray? Even gives me hair envy.

I was pretty nervous on Anzac Day. These days I don’t like to be too confident. I don’t want to jinx us so if we win it feels so much sweeter and if we don’t my heart is more prepared for the hurt. Being happily engaged, I’m not used to having my heart hurt these days since Christain treats me amazingly, so the only other boys that can hurt me are my Collingwood boys.

Watching the game, though messy was exciting! We were flinging the ball at the goals like a pinball machine wing and managing to score. It’s the goals that come out of nowhere that really made us cheer.

Suddenly I had my Collingwood strut back. My beak in the air with a little shake in my tail feathers. I feel the excitement around me in the nest. Fellow Magpies whispering the “f” word.

Could we possibly make it?

Only one way to find out.
