The Almanac XI v Adelaide Lutheran: Thrust your name before the selectors

The cricketing honour of the Almanac is at stake in the match against Adelaide Lutheran at Doggies Park (Adelaide Lutheran’s home ground) on Test Eve – December 1. The match is followed by drinks and a bite to eat at the club – which will go well into the night.

Doggies Park is in the parkland at the intersection of South Terrace and Goodwood Road at the south west corner of the city.

On availability for (lowly) cricket matches the then walloper of the West Coast town of Minnipa said it best in the pub one Friday night upon learning they were short for the following day’s fixture: “I’m a very handy cricketer. I can’t bat. I can’t bowl, and I can’t field. But I live right behind the oval.”

    May non-players turn up for the drinks afterwards? Despite us not having an SA-related book to launch (mercifully… the Crows Almanac sounds like a terrible idea)
