A sense of deja vu in a nail-biter had Col worried the Bombers would again be pipped at the post. Thankfully, due to the superlative Zach Merrett, they held on to win.
Round 5 Gather Round – Melbourne v Essendon: Dees Bomb!
With small forward Jye Menzies leading the way with four goals, it was an inspiring Essendon win over a lacklustre Melbourne during Gather Round.
Round 22 – Essendon v Gold Coast Suns: A Big Mac upsets the Bombers!
It took a Big Mac to ground the Bombers eating up their chances of playing in the finals in 2024.
Round 5 – Western Bulldogs v Essendon: Bulldogs’ growl bombs out!
It was bombs away as Essendon snuffed out the Bulldogs’ growl in the Bombers great Round 5 win reports Col Ritchie.
Round 10 – Essendon v Richmond: What a cracking game!
The Bombers finally get a monkey off their back by ending a thirteen match losing streak against the Tigers. A goal to Sam Durham in the dying seconds of the match gave the Bombers a one point victory in an entertaining game.
Round 2 – Essendon v Gold Coast Suns: No clangers from Langers!
It has been awhile since the Bombers have won their first two games of the season with win number two set up by Kyle Langford’s five goals.
Round 1 – Hawthorn v Essendon: Walla returns as Bombers fly high
High flying Bombers ruffle the Hawks’ feathers in their Round 1 match that saw the inspirational return of Anthony Mc Donald-Tipungwunti to football.

Though not without some anxious moments, the Bombers came through for Caspar McLeod against the Dockers to solidify their quest for a finals berth.
Round 15 – Essendon v GWS: McKernan you star!
Col reached for the sky as his Bombers soared to a sensational victory over GWS in their Round 15 match at Marvel.
Round 2 – Essendon v St Kilda: Bombers bomb out
Col can’t …”get no,…no satisfaction” as his Bombers bomb out, and the Stones stop rolling.
Round 22- Richmond v Essendon: If, if, if!
Col hopes the law of averages fall into place for Essendon in their game against Richmond at the MCG on Friday night.
