Round 17 – Western Bulldogs v Sydney: South Melbourne! South Melbourne!

Jan Courtin is a very happy Swan after Sydney’s fantastic win wearing the old South Melbourne colours against ladder leader the Western Bulldogs in Round 17.

FEARLESS 2019 – Round 19: The overdue return of the squirrel grip…

FEARLESS calls out pointless jargon, such as the use of ‘metres gained’ statistics and the over-hyped obsession with ‘players as athletes’. How would a ball-getter like ‘Diesel’ Williams fare in the modern draft?

Round 3 – Carlton v Sydney Swans: A footy win is a tonic

Reflecting upon her road travelled to the Harbour City, Jan Courtin prepares for her return to Melbourne, but not before watching her Swans score a desparately needed win against an improving Carlton.

Round 2 – Sydney v Adelaide: One is a ballet, the other sea foam!

The contemporary footy landscape, recent cultural and politcal events, concern Mathilde de Hauteclocque as she grapples with the consequences of them. And, her beloved Swans going down to the Crows hasn’t helped either. Perhaps the Cotes du Rhone on Saturday night put Mathilde in a better frame of mind!

The Red and the White – Swans mid year review

Keiran figured the Swans chances of doing well in 2018 had dipped after some early season injuries to key players. And, you can’t put off your travel plans to the USA on the basis of your team maybe making the Grand Final … or can you Keiran asks as he reviews the half way mark for the Swans?

Alex Docherty’s 2018 Mid-Year All Australian Team

As we hit the bye rounds, it’s time to think about All Australian contenders. Who would you have in your team?

Round 8 – Hawthorn v Sydney: The Unpredictability of footy and life!

Jan is rapt! Who could have planned for a 20-year old rookie, in just his third game, to have carried out such a remarkable performance. Ronke is his name – Ronks his nickname. Seven goals, ten tackles in any game is a best on ground performance, but to do it in his first game at the G, against a team such as Hawthorn, is a feat he will never forget. The coach/coaches won’t forget, the opposition won’t forget, and the fans won’t forget.

The Red and the White – A Week Is A Long Time.

A week is a long time in footy; you are only as good as your last game, are two over used, though true sayings according to Keiren as he ponders recent performances by the Swans.

Round 5 – Sydney v Adelaide: Beware!

Keiran Croker had good reason to be wary before the game as the Crows bounced back with intent against his Swans!

Round 3 – Sydney v GWS: Us winning is just as good as them losing!

According to Jan, Sydney played as a team, everyone contributed, and for the full four quarters. The Giants, those privileged young men who, despite being brilliant footballers, can still learn a thing or two from their eastern suburbs rivals – the Mighty Bloods! And long may it grow and last! Jan is excited by the Swans win.

Round 1 – West Coast v Sydney: What A Ripper!

What a game it was; and definitely a much better start to the year than last year for the Swans reports Daniel Saunders. He is eager for the Swans to bring it on and take it up to Port Adelaide next week! What a ripper this footy season is turning out to be writes Daniel. He is hopeful it makes up for the disappointing summer this year!

Finals Week 1 – Sydney v Essendon: What a win, but: One week at a time!

When avid Swan fan Jan Courtin forced herself from her sick bed on Saturday afternoon, determined, no matter how she was feeling, to get to the SCG, little did she believe that her beloved team would come away with such an emphatic victory.

Round 15 – Melbourne v Sydney: The flames from hell, and those Demons!

A road trip, some classical music, Catholic guilt, mutilated cars, dead birds, live music at the RSL, and a Bugg for the confessional box are all part of Jan’s trip from Sydney to the MCG for the footy!

Round 13 – Richmond v Sydney: Our Bloods, Our Culture

Daniel Saunders was overcome with joy as his Swans kept the Bloods culture well and truly alive after a comeback win over Richmond.

Round 12 – Sydney v Western Bulldogs: Here Come the Swans

Daniel Saunders believes the doubters need to be wary of a Sydney team that has the potential to make it to the finals in 2017.

Round 4 – West Coast v Sydney: Crystal Ball

The Swans young talent has Daniel staring into the crystal ball wondering if they can lift their team out of the furnace and revive their season.

Finals Week 1 – Fremantle v Sydney: We’re Still Dancing

What do the Sydney Swans, Ren McCormack, Beaumont and Fremantle have in common? Joe Moore explains.

Round 16 – Sydney v Hawthorn: ‘Sooner of later one of us must know.’

With a little help from Bob Dylan, Tom Bally vents his frustration at Sydney’s effort against the Hawks on Saturday night. With the Eagles looming, questions are being asked of the Swans.

I Need to be in Drummoyne

Their first date at Marrickville went surprisingly well, and after their second date at Drummoyne, Mathilde de Hauteclocque is well and truly in love with suburban footy.
