Round 3 – St Kilda v Brisbane: Blossoms

Sunday, 9 April 2017
1:10 pm (4:10 am York, UK; 12:10pm Kyoto)
Docklands Stadium, Melbourne

My boys performances hadn’t blossomed for the previous two matches. Cherry blossoms here have arrived later than the average years.

This week has been bringing everyone opportunities to blossom. For my Saints, I would say it would be as anything can happen at AFL. Western Bulldogs weren’t able to bite or roar at Subiaco in the previous night. Dockers unloaded items of being Owen.

Parks, streets and river banks have been filled with cheery blossoms that make us relaxed and calm. Many tourists from all over the world enjoy the great time of the year.

It is the first day at my new job when the game is played. It’s a good move towards our bright future and time to save money to move to York to be together with Katie. Even my responsibilities make me feeling like a baby. But I am sure we will bloom much more once I go back to York.

Surprisingly our champion Nick Riewoldt’s recovery from the knee injury from Round 1 is so fast. He is in the Round 3 squad.

Gresham who blossoms more than expected starts the game positively as kicks the first goal after the boundary line thrown in.

Acres’ long kick seems to help Riewoldt’s re-blossoming, but he does a good job creating clear space. Weller uses the advantage to score a goal.

Then classic Riewoldt re-blossoms. Taking a mark by the goal post, he scores a goal straight.

Geary is not only sitting the back pocket but also blossoms at our goal square scoring a goal to help our blossoms.

However we slow down at the third quarter. We allow the Lions to be in front even we had 23 blossoms in credit. It may reflect on we are losing energy at work as we are busy and it is cold and rainy here in Kyoto. I wish I can be in the sunny York with my sweetie.

Then passions, lives of cherries and energy are back. We lead again.

At the last quarter, Montagna pauses blossoming. He catches a ball by the goal post and take a pause even it’s close. Then kicks straight. Maybe he needs to practice how to kick straight or to show other boys how to do so?

Richardson’s reaction up in the coaches box expresses disappointment and wonders what is going on. Later he backs Joey and Montagna admits it is not good.

It is not an ideal, but win is win. Our blossoms arrive eventually. I hope my boys keep blossoming and show cheery blossom power against Collingwood next week.

At work (an authentic and new Kyoto cuisine restaurant), my responsibilities are mainly kitchen and colleagues don’t ask me any help when they struggle with communicating with western customers. I want to blossom more. In reality I need to earn and save money to fly to York in August, so I have to be patient for a while before blossoming in York?

About Yoshihiro Imagawa

Love, passion and pride are seen on the footy that is the biggest part of my life. 1. St Kilda Club member: I am a passionate and crazy Sainter. Just hope we will win the second flag soon, especially after Dogs and Tigers having ended long premiership draughts. 2. The Osaka Dingoes Player and Public Relations Officer: Player number 44 that I chose to honour Stephen Milne with my wish being like a small forward like him. Lenny Hayes' hardworking attitudes are adopted on my trainings and practices. Nick Riewoldt's great plays are in my player audiobook too. 3. Writing: Here on the Almanac and also on the World Footy News. My skills utilise on great footy websites.
