Round 1 – Adelaide v GWS Giants: Crows fire up after half-time

I went to the Crows Vs Giants game on Sunday with my dad, both my dad and me are Crows members.

My dad drove to the game and we were parked at the Rundle Street UPark just over Hungry Jack’s. We walked from Rundle Mall then to the Torrens Parade Ground to get to the footy between the Crows and the Giants.

During the first quarter, the Giants looked way too fast for the Crows and I thought, “this Giants side is going to be as good as what they were 12 months earlier.” The Crows simply weren’t good enough in the first quarter due to not enough opportunities for the Crows and loads of scoring potential for the Giants and I thought the Giants were going to win this.

During the second quarter, I got a hot chocolate with marshmallow and biscotti from The Adelaide Oval cafe and my dad got a soup type drink. I watched most of the second quarter facing the cafe’s television with the Crows starting to fire against the Giants with Jenkins getting 2 goals in the last 5 minutes and leading by 11 points at half time.

The third quarter went from good to great for the Adelaide Crows due to their fire up at half-time from Crows coach Don Pyke and acting skipper Rory Sloane.  I was really shocked that my favourite player Tex Walker did a hammy before the game began but Riley Knight took his place that game and kicked 2 goals. The Crows created more scoring opportunities in the third quarter with The Crows leading by 31 points at three-quarter time. I said to myself, “The Crows are really looking good, maybe they can win it in the last quarter.”

Last quarter went from strength to strength for The Crows outscoring the Giants with 7.1 to 3.0 to win the game by 56 points
