New Saints Leader Jack Steven

As has been predicted, Nick Riewoldt has been appointed to be the skipper for St Kilda as his 11th season as the captain.

The news was delivered on Monday night through the club website as well as the AFL’s one.

Surprising news hit me on Tuesday morning. Oops, it should not be surprising? Jack Steven joins the Saints leadership group. Congratulations Jack on being the leader!!

As a club who have many players born in the 90s, we need young leaders to guide the club to the right direction.

Having researched his statics for the 2015 season, he made many clearances. He helped carrying balls to his teammates. Steven knows how to start the game after the bounce.

As in the club App’s article, he had a quiet day on the footy field when we played Demons at Docklands. Then he created two important touches to lead the close win.

The mighty Saints need such attitudes to get four points in close games. Jack will motivate boys to win games.

And he is staying at St Kilda for five more years, it is good to appoint him as a new leader.

Enthusiastic and passionate are words how our coach Alan Richardson described Steven on SEN radio this morning. These positive attitudes are required in the leadership job.

The number of leaders has risen up to eight this year. St Kilda formed the strong leadership team. We are improving this year.

I cannot wait the AFL 2016 Season.

Go Saints!!
