I’ve not spent anytime sitting at my computer, and so I have been tardy in replying emails, paying bills and in writing, anything at all.
Instead, I’ve been daubing away at the kitchen table in the evenings, using acrylic paint on paper, merging a bit of my own reality with that of the footy world and other things that have been going on.
This is my Round 8 round up.
Title: Mundy Morning
Medium: Acrylic on A3 Paper
Great work Kate, I love it.
I don’t recall ever being so deflated after a game of football.
It ranks up there with the Geelong loss of last year.
:)
So much Van Gogh in this picture Katie!
Just can’t wait for the Richmond v Geelong match later this year. Perennial misfits.
Citrus
That’s a ripper Kate.
Mundy, Monday …can’t trust that name/day. Beautifully captured.
Fantastic Kate. I wish you never had to paint it.
Thanks Kate.
Wonderful celebration of a joyful Sunday into Mundy.
Or did I misinterpret it?
Thx Andy,
Yes! I wasn’t there on Sunday but was tuned in whilst watching my daughter play basketball .. I realised there was still time running but when I saw the jubilations on the ground thought siren had gone. Aghast!
Such a great quarter, wasted.
And yes, that Geelong game…..Can’t wait for a turning of those tables, Citrus!
Citrus, always been enchanted by Van Gogh, but do love Max Beckmann’s work more.
Thanks Phil, Mundy morning after a Sunday game…still fresh. Love your future footy panel piece too.
And Chris, I know.
Hi Kate,
I have just watched what happened in the last two miniutes in the game. Richmond scored a goal after controlling the very congested goal square that would be the winning one. Then Freo used open space very well and Mindy made it. It’s unbelievable and Tigers fans must be very disappointed like were Footscray supporters in 1994 when Billy Brownless kicked a goal after siren.
Your painting contains a lot of sadness of Tigers with calm Mundy. Munday Blues…. Bless you…
You are brave to do painting and to share with us. It’s a nice work.
Yoshi
Brilliant!
Cheers Les, and a cheery Mundy for you., well done
Thx Yoshi and Damian, glad you enjoyed
you have captured it well Kate
Love it Kate!
Love the intersection of the family table and the week’s result – isn’t that all there ever really is?
These works have so much in them.
Do you know Noel McKenna’s work?
Mundy, Mundy, can´t trust that play
Mundy, Mundy, sometimes it just turns out that way
Oh Mundy stormin´ you gave me no warnin´ of what was to be
Oh Mundy, Mundy, how could you leave and not take me
Every other play, every other play
Every other play of the game is fine, yeah
But whenever Mundy comes, but whenever Mundy comes
A-you can find me cryin´ all of the time
Mundy, Mundy ……it just won’t go away…
Every other day….
…..
Had it been a Friday…
or a Saturday
T”would had gone away…
Any other day
……
Any other day
Mundy
Mundy.
Please,
Go away
Thx Mathilde
It all happens at the kitchen table
And no i would have to look him up, Noel Mc Kenna. Thx mathilde
The good thing is that it won’t happen again…
