Footy Poetry – Hanger

When Sampi soared into the spheres

and took the hanger of the year,

they said no man had travelled higher

than the West Australian flyer.

   And to this day

   it’s fair to say

that none have climbed as high as Sampi…

that is, of course, except for Rampe.

  1. Phillip Dimitriadis says

Ha, nice twist Damo. Love it.

  2. Ditto.

A bit of the old Spike Milligan in that.

  3. As Spike would have said, “NEEDLE, HADDLE, NOO – TO NAME BUT A FEW”

  4. DBalassone says

Ha, ha. Gotta love Spike Milligan. One of the greats.

    Said Hamlet to Ophelia,
I’ll draw a sketch of thee,
What kind of pencil shall I use?
    2B or not 2B?

  5. Mad genius.

I grew up loving ‘The Little Pot Boiler’ as a young ‘un.

Absurdist humour for an absurdist age.
