Fantasy Footy: A goldmine of websites for the tragics

by John Butler

Dreamers, following on from my fantasy footy piece last Friday, these are the main fantasy footy websites I’m aware of. Serious fantasy tragics flock to these sites because the Dream Team coverage on the official AFL site is positively lame.

DT Talk– a bunch of Tassie ratbags who do a weekly vidcast and mix humour with analysis. They seem to be moving up in the world as their site has had a dramatic upgrade and sponsorship. Roy, Warnie and Calvin seem to be the main guys.

Fanfooty– a more serious, statistical website that does a weekly podcast during the season. Monty is the Paul Montgomery mentioned below. It’s his baby.

  1. Steve Healy says

Thanks for that John, im a dream team tragic myself and hopefully my team Steve’s Dream will have a good season

  2. Where’s the Supercoach representive?

  3. Steve Healy says

    Non-existent

  4. John Butler says

    Josh

You would seem the most likely candidate for Supercoach rep.

  5. I can wholeheartedly recommend http://www.ultimatefooty.com it has a US style setup with a proper draft. The best fantasy footy game I played last year.

Is anyone interested in playing an Almanac comp? I’m more than happy to be administrator.

  6. Tim,

Josh has asked me to look into it, but I just haven’t done so yet (sorry, Josh). But yes, if you were the administrator of an Almanac comp, I’d be very happy.

What do you, Josh, Steve, et al, think of playing the ultimate footy game?

  7. My preference is ultimate footy, but happy to do any. It’s a relatively light workload

  8. We’ve actually already got an Almanac Supercoach league going, the code is 838251 if anyone’s interested. 8 spots remaining btw.

  9. I’ve never heard of Ultimate Footy?

No problem Daff, I was just pointing out the fact that their are a lot of Dream Team lovers compared to Supercoach users which is appalling.

  10. That Ultimate footy thing sounds very good to me, I like the concept of a live draft, as long everyone’s there.

  11. I’ll try and set a time that everyone is available. If not you can set up a mock draft to autpick your players for you.

e.g. You choose Ablett, Sandilands then Cooney.

You have pick 2, Ablett is gone so you would get Sandilands
