Australia v New Zealand – Gabba Test: Call for writers

Here we are at the threshold of another summer.
Another Test series.
Time marches on.

We’re again looking to cover the events of all playing days here at The Footy Almanac.
Which days are best for you?
Whether you’re at the ground, overseas, in the shed, in the pub, we’d love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts, observations, verse or prose.
Here’s a writer’s schedule:
Day 1, Thu 5 Nov: P Grindlay & D Wilson & S McIntyre
Day 2, Fri 6 Nov: L Reynolds &
Day 3, Sat 7 Nov: C O’Connor &
Day 4, Sun 8 Nov: W Ball
Day 5, Mon 9 Nov: S Dawson &

It’s a time of change for the Australian side.
SPD Smith makes a start as substantive captain.
His team without Clarke, Watson, Rogers, Haddin, Harris.
BB McCullum leads a talented Kiwi team of good recent experience and justified swagger.
Both teams capable of confident and attacking cricket.
Both teams capable of falling in large and astonishing holes.
Opportunity knocks.

Will we see a continuation of wildly fluctuating Test cricket play?
Will we see a Test enter a fifth day?
Who are the players to watch?
What can we expect?

Come and get involved.
Leave a comment with your nominated day if you’re able.
Otherwise, we’re very happy to receive impromptu stories.
Cheers all.

The more correspondents the better. Diverse views always interesting.

There’s plenty of room for more than one piece per day.
Step right up, step right up.

  6. Have recently started new employment, which means I’m out on workdays. I see Sunday is open, the pitch should be starting to turn by then. Pencil me in for a 20 over spell.

  7. Good on you, Wayne.
    Congratulations on the new job.

Hope you like bowling into a slight breeze.

  9. Good on you Citrus Bob.
    Love it.
You seem to have lined up the ducks perfectly.

Your stories, your insightful observations of both cricket and local customs, your words “from the inside”, are all very much appreciated.
    Thanks. SKI hard.
