Almanac World Records: Cobram Estate’s olive oil tasting Guinness World Record attempt

Since 2009, Spain has held the Guinness World Record for the largest olive oil tasting event ever – with 12,909 participants. The City Hall of the city of Jaen organised a mass tasting on 17 May, 2009 (using picual virgin olive oil).

Cobram Estate are trying to break this world record on the 28th of October this year. This will be in the form of a live webinar, hosted by Cobram Estate CEO, Rob McGavin, Dr Joanna McMillan and chief oil maker Leandro Ravetti. 10 participants will win a year’s supply of Cobram Eastate Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and another 10 will win a personalised bottle of Cobram Estate Ultra Premium Hojiblanca.

The event will start at 7.30pm and there will be a short presentation on the making of olive oil and its health benefits before the attempt is made.

Those registering can use the discount code “CBO” for a 50% discount – thanks to Almanac member, Keith Richards, who has made this discount available to our readers. Those wanting to take part will be sent out an olive oil tasting kit in preparation for the world record attempt after they register.
