Almanac Soccer: Round 24 of the A-League – Hamish Neal’s ‘No Subs’ Edition

It’s the final month of Soccer in the Hyundai A-League. Who will win the Premiers Plate? Where do this week’s revelations leave Perth Glory? Are the Sky Blues of Sydney FC peaking at just the right time?Hamish Neal’s preview of the action as the finals approach is well worth a read!

Western Sydney Wanderers v Melbourne Sheep Cow Whale Ships, Friday – Pirtek Stadium
Without a game during the week, a rarity for the Wanderers, we will find out on Friday if training has been focused on A-League or ACL opponents. City, the competition’s ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ team, have a chance to all but vanquish Brisbane from finals contention with a positive result here.

Big game for: John Van’t Schip. The Dutchman can secure his tenure with a finals spot, so the more wins in the next month the better.

The ‘I’m really looking forward to’ bit: The crowd at Parramatta Stadium. This will be an interesting one after a raft of fixtures racked by poor weather and just bog average performances. Always behind you and all that… let’s find out.
