Almanac Racing – westward ho

Victorian racing can send the highs and lows interstate this weekend as we move to Ballarat for their Cup but the caravan crosses the Nullabor for the G1 Railway – and NSW can cop the scandal heat about James McDonald having “an interest” in the punt and standing down.

Spring finished, as usual, with a ripper meeting at Sandown where the bookies were skinned and we found some winners. Suggestions to this site were few…I had Lucky Hussler as the best ($5) and Jock tried to tip us in to a 25/1 pop bloused in the last in Adelaide.

Tomorrow night I’m at the Valley. Budge was on fire there last Friday so trust him to be confident. Then I’m heading out the Western Highway for an epic card on Saturday. Happy to take a tip but won’t be doing any form.

Good luck!

  1. A light day on the punt for me.
Both Roger & I conferred at the pub and like Charlevoix in race 9, not sure if that’s a good thing.
Buttering up on Khutulun in the last at big odds, didn’t get a look in last time so giving her another chance.

In Adelaide I like Hidden Value in the 6th and its Invincible in the 8th.

Did Elvis put the kiss of death on my last race tip last week?

  2. Jock, it ran out of its skin considering myself, Crio, Elvis and others were on board. Fortunately most went the each way option.
As CB alluded to, I was on fire last Friday night at the Valkey. Back the first 3 legs of the Quaddie and nosed out in the last. Don’t take many quaddies anyway so all good. Last night, missed the $5 shot in first leg but backed the last 3 all $10+. Quaddie $17k.
Just happy to get a collect or two…
