Almanac Oratory: Speakola and Tony Wilson

I’m not sure where I met Tony Wilson, or Tinsel Tony Wilson as I have come to know him, but I had a lot of fun with him (and Squaredy and Sam Pang) on Breakfasters on 3RRR for a few years.

Tony has written many books including the brilliant satirical novel Players, and a fan’s account of the 2006 World Cup Australia United, as well as many other novels. In recent times he has become renowned for his kids’ books.

He also has a terrific website called Speakola where he publishes videos and transcripts of speeches.

Those who were at the Grand Final lunch would have seen Tony talk us through some brilliant three quarter time addresses – including Allan Jeans and Tommy Hafey.

I just wanted to say thanks to Tony for his ongoing support of all things Almanac, especially the lunch.

Check out Speakola HERE.

Have a look around but here’s Tommy Hafey’s speech.

Here’s Allan Jeans’s speech.

Thanks again Tinsel.
