Almanac Cricket: Pomborneit Cricket Club November Review

Welcome to our monthly review for November,
to help keep you updated on all the happenings
at the Pomborneit Cricket Club. #gopombobulls

DIVISION 1-

3 wins and a 6 run loss to reigning premiers Mortlake in November for the Division 1
Bulls.

Well done to Luke Reynolds (above) who played his 350th senior game for the club in Round 5.
Sadly his right hamstring couldn’t quite get through game 351 a week later….

Easton Wood (above) was a welcome addition to the team in Round 5, playing his first game for the club since 2010. No need to panic Bulldogs fans, his shoulders and hammies made it through unscathed. Easton showed he still had it in his brief, unbeaten stay at the crease and in the field.

WOOLWORTHS BLAST PROGRAM

For the first ever time, the club is running the Woolworths Blast (formerly Milo Cricket) program, which acts as an introduction to the skills of cricket for 5-10 year olds.

We’ve had a great response, with 30 boys and girls signing up to take part. Club president Dave Murphy has done a magnificent job in co-ordinating the program and garnering interest. A big thank-you to all the families that have committed to the Woolworths Blast program, parent interaction is important and has been absolutely fantastic, we welcome you all into the Bulls family.

On the opening night of the Blast program it was announced that the club had purchased Melbourne Renegades memberships for all of our junior players, be they Woolworths Blast, Under 13 or Under 16, and that the club would be running a bus to the to Melbourne Renegades v Brisbane Heat game at Kardinia Park in Geelong on January 13 for all juniors.
