John: am inclined to agree with you about the Cats – a danger, danger game. Sort of game that has been our achiles heel this year …playing away against a team we’re expected to beat, but a team that on its day is very capable. And falling away in last quarters. Lost a little resilience? This week could be season defining. Felt similarly last year after going west resting too many players. Reckon that loss against the Coasters cost us a top four spot. On the positive side, a win here will re-energize nicely.

Pies getting momentum at the right time – can they maintain it?

Freo poised to do a Steve Bradbury.

  2. Geez what is it with you Geelong blokes? Joining Kevin and Tony in a race to the bottom so you can both run from opposition??? We are the underdogs; no we are even more undedoggerer.
Look you are second. The Eagles are tenth. You have won 6 more games than us. The only top 8 side we have beaten all year couldn’t tie their own shoe laces at the moment.
This is a typical Harms scam on behalf of his bookies mates to get fools to think the $2.60 about the Eagles is value. About as convincing as Tom the Poms long list of ‘Mums Specials’ that regularly go over during the Spring Carnival.
You don’t have Hawkins this week (no loss in his recent condition and form) while we have lost LeCras (again) who kicked half our goals last week.
Still we are tougher on boat people than you are. We are giving them all free Melbourne FC membership and forcing them to attend home games. That should do the trick.

The Cats WC tip is the hot one John – I dont think West Coast will get the ball enough to win, much as I would like them to (can’t believe I have written that).

  4. Thanks Mr B. I was one of those Harmsie had convinced to take Little Tommy’s $2.60. Now you’re telling me it was the Queen’s shilling that was being offered. Thanks for that.

Pies are a chance. And North & The Team Who Dare Not Speak Its Name are a toss up.

  5. Neil Belford says

My tips – Pies are HOT. Will win. TTWDNSIT are not. It wont be close. I think even if they dont know it the Crows have put the cue back in the rack. Dogs. Cats. Freo. Swans. Carlton are in trouble. Enduring trouble I think. Tiges. Port. Brians.

  6. Sean Gorman says

    Only 40 points JH?

  7. Hi Mr Harms

A couple of comments (as I’m sure you totally expect I will):

“Huge match on Friday night, which could well see the Pies firm even further for the flag” – after tonight they won’t

“Collingwood exposed me as the dunce tipper I am l” – They did again :) Maybe not dunce but blinker

“Maybe I’m easily convinced, but the Pies have to be hard to beat in this. They’ve won me at least at the line. Collingwood by 7 points in a genuine blockbuster” – I wouldn’t say they were easy to beat, it was a great match but the Pies are not faster, bigger, smarter or tougher than the Hawks IMHO

    And, Hi Mr Belford

The Pies weren’t HOT or if they were the Hawks convincingly extingiushed their heat. I think some people have forgotten that the Pies were beaten by Gold Coast just a few weeks ago then they beat GWS and Essendon before surprising (yes, surprising) with a win over the Swans. One Swan (win) does not a winter make.

We’re a happy team at Hawthorn!

  8. Peter Schumacher says

    Even happier now!

  9. Harms has gone soft. Softer.
Chris Scott will be eating a footy-sized salad roll during the second quarter firing little fun-flavored sparks of reminiscence through my soul.
I’m about to go to the North Port oval to watch Chappy go around. That’s where the real story is.

  10. What a load of rubbish Anson. Chris Scott is much more of a Chiko Roll sort of guy.

  11. Neil Belford says

Thing is Rick – every time I see Hawthorn play I think -when they come up against a good side they are going to get flogged. Except they are top. But I’m not letting the facts get in the way. The mids are fat and slow and the defence is weak. Other than that the Hawks are a good side.

Dustbin lid is back on at Richmond – are they wetters or what.
