shadows of September –
we do everything
but win
Spring
around the corner
Buddy’s curl
getting a run-on
the moon comes out
from the clouds
warmer nights
the ball slides off
Goldy’s boot
end of Winter –
we go all the way back
to the goal square
Rioli breaks clear –
the movement
in the forward line
beaten again –
my daughter
saves the day
