It was was first against last at Fremantle Oval and the result was predictable with Claremont on top from the start. South Fremantle had two crucial problems… they found it hard to get the ball and when they did they gave it away too easily. Paul Medhurst kicked five goals for the Tigers, Mark Seaby controlled the ruck, Jake Murphy was strong in the  midfield along with Andrew Foster and Chad Jones worked very hard. Paul Mugambwa presented well in the forward line for South Fremantle and Haiden Schloite impressed in the midfield but missed two easy shots for goal.

Claremont 20.12 (132)  South Fremantle 9.11 (65)

Peel kept in touch with the top four with an important win over East Perth at Rushton Park. The Thunder led all day with Viv Michie and Marlon Motlop again in form in the midfield and Brad Holmes and James Hawksley each kicking three goals. Craig Wulff and Josh Smith (three goals) were the best of the Royals.

Peel 13.13 (91) East Perth 10.13 (73)

Subiaco scored an important win over Swan Districts at Bassendean – it was the second loss at home in a row for Swans. Jason Bristow and youngster Michael Wood stood out the Lions. Dayle Garlett kicked four goals for Swans and Graham Jetta was creative in defence.

Subiaco 12.13 (85) Swan Districts 10.12 (72)

Perth suffered their first heavy defeat for the season when they went down by 36 points at Joondalup. Josh Mellington played probably his best game for West Perth and finished with four goals and Chris Keunen won the ruck contest. Brennan Stack maintained his stunning form despite the loss and kicked five goals.

The ladder: Claremont 36; West Perth 24; Perth 20; East Fremantle 16; East Perth 16; Swan Districts 12; Peel 12; Subiaco 12; South Fremantle 4.
