The Odd Friday Lunch – with Heath Scotland at the North Fitzroy Arms (July 27)

Hello Almanackers,

 

The next Odd Friday Lunch at the North Fitzroy Arms will be with none other than former Pie and Blue, Heath Scotland.

 

 

Scotland played 268 AFL games for Collingwood and Carlton between 1999 and 2013.

 

 

Between 1999 to 2003 he played 53 games for Collingwood, which included two losing Grand Finals.

 

 

In 2004 he moved from playing under Mick Malthouse at Collingwood to Denis Pagan at Carlton and then went on to play 215 games for Carlton.

 

He was in the Collingwood team that played the last game at Victoria Park and in the Carlton team that played the last game at Princes Park.

 

He was a very adaptable player but was predominantly a defensive midfielder who won the Carlton Best and Fairest in 2012.

 

 

After Carlton he played and assisted coaching at the Doncaster Sharks for 2 years and in 2017 was appointed Senior Coach for his original club Darley – in the Ballarat League.

 

 

The Darley Devils beat arch rival Bacchus Marsh in the 2017 Grand Final with Heath also being a standout player in
his last ever game. He was named coach of the year and was also in the team of the year for the Ballarat League.
