Round 4 – Adelaide v Essendon: Crows Score 9 Goals In The First Quarter

This is the second Crows home game that I’ve been to this season

The Crows went off to a good start with in the first forty five seconds by getting the first goal of the game which was scored by Andy Otten. Then Andy Otten’s long serving team mate Tex Walker scored the second goal of the game to make it 12-0. It sounds like it was a la 2009 when Andy Otten and Tex Walker both had a full season together. The Crows ran away with that first quarter equaling their all time first quarter record with 9.2 (56) which they set back in 2006 against The Kangaroos at Etihad Stadium.

During sometime between the first and second quarter I got a hot chocolate from The Adelaide Oval cafe and my dad got an Earl Grey tea from The Adelaide Oval cafe, which was better than old English Breakfast tea. During most of the second quarter Adelaide have been out scoring Essendon by 38 points to 24 to lead 94-44 at half time.

Third quarter was a good quarter for Essendon beating Adelaide throughout most of the quarter to trim the deficit to only trail by 40 points at the last break.

The last quarter did start off well for Essendon but Adelaide finished strong to win the game by 65 points

My votes

3 – Rory Sloane (ADEL)

2 – Eddie Betts (ADEL)

1 – Taylor Walker (ADEL)
