PIES VS CATS: I should have gone to the wedding party

You can learn many things in a week.

On Monday, when I delivered my speech in front of the school at assembly I learnt that I would never be the next Prime Minister or put myself in that position again.

On Thursday I learnt how spine chilling an atmosphere can be, when we went to Melbourne Uni and all I could think was ‘Wow, Sam Lane walked on these grounds once.’

But mostly importantly I learnt that having a princess tantrum is not only healthy once in a while but also is sometimes the only way to get what you want.

We had been invited to my mum’s cousins’ wedding party thingo, Friday night same time as my boys face the Cats.

When I realised this I said to my mum.

“I’m so not going, I can’t miss the game!”

She was not impressed, “Danielle, you’re going and that’s final, you can tape the game.”

“Mum, I don’t want to tape the game, ITS LIVE! And I’m not going!”

Mum wouldn’t budge.

When dad came home I pleaded my case:

“Daddyyyy!! Please don’t make me go, I don’t want to go! I can’t miss the footy!”

He understood what I meant; “Okay, you can stay home and watch the game if you want.”
There we go; looks like those three years of debating came in handy after all.

So while every one leaves the house all dressed up in dresses and suits, I’m in my duckie pajamas sitting on the couch with my notepad, pen and a packet of Tim-Tams.

Three milestones in the match tonight.

Cameron Mooney- *drools* plays game 200

Heath Shaw- *squeals* plays 100 games

And Toovey 50 games *cheers*

The squealing beings before the match starts, Cameron Mooney runs through the banner with his muffins! (Kids) sooo cute, he’s such a great daddy, a perfect specimen to raise children!  I have a confession; I have a small obsession with Cameron Mooney. He’s such a stunner!

The obsession causes my jaw to drop any time I see his picture in the paper or when he’s on television. I love the way he’s so cuddly and shows so much affection and love for his team mates. I always get a ping of jealousy when Mooney is distributing hugs and kisses to Ablett and co during goal celebrations.

The game begins, Swanny is running early, right to the goals and not long after he’s followed by the Gold Coast target Ablett who responds for Geelong.

Pods misses one, we miss two!

Swanny misses, Mooney misses, so much missing!

Omg…STEELE has a new haircut! I don’t like it,  whyyy??!!

“It’s too short Steele! Where the messy, scruffiness gone? I hate neat hair!”

Geelong is the team I respect the most, they are just such a great team! I dont know how esle to say it really.

It’s a tight game, just as tight as the new jeans I bought last week.

My boys charge first again as Beams kicks his first for the game.

That’s two Dayne/Dane goals.

Im loving this ‘Dane/Dayne effect’

Naturally the Cats reply through Johnson.

Then Mooney…*sigh*…he’s so pretty…where was I? Oh right he kicks his first.

He’s followed by the Hunky Hawkins, who should be a model instead of a footy player.

Hawkins will always be remembered by me as the stunner who wore bright red briefs at last year’s grand final.

There is a clear problem arising, as soon as my boys get near our fifty they hyperventilate and cause a turn over.

Finally: “THANKYOU BEAMSY!!!!”  * blows kisses to Dayne*

He kicks his third right on the siren.

Beamsy is on fire tonight and gets his fourth; O’Bree wants in on the fun and kicks his own. Fun is over.

Cats hit back through Varcoe and Stokes.

And then…Mooney, whyyy? WHY is he so hawt???

Sing along time!

“Mooney’s got me like, Oh my gosh I’m so in LOVE!!!”

LOL, okay back to the footy.

Susie’s main man Pods gets his first for the night.

MOONEY…again…oh gee I can’t handle this, he’s just so…so…so *SIGH*

Caffer’s shocking miss at goal causes me to give Mick a spray.

“That’s what you effing get for leaving out JACK, effing sprays instead of goals!!!”

Why do we keep missing the middle? That’s almost as bad as asking what the meaning of life is!

“ARGGHHH CAFFER!! Whyyy!!?”

“STUPID TEAM SELECTOR, STUPID!”

We are missing Medders way too much.

Siren- well if you’re going to lose, it might aswell be against Geelong!

I should have gone to the wedding party.

  1. Good report Danni, once again bad luck about the scoreline, had Anthony been playing I think he would have nailed those goals that Macaffer missed if he got those same chances. Although I think the Cats were still too good than a few missed chances.

Hope the Pies can reverse this result in the Grand Final later in the year ;)

Thanks for the support Josh. :)
You and i think very alike most of the time. I don’t think it’s fair for Jack to be dropped. last time he was dorpped for defensive pressure and last week he was great with his tackles and chasing but they still drop him. We needed him out there last night, you would think the selectors would have considered age and experience BUT NOOOOOOOO!
Geelong on the other hand, just a great team, fanstastic.

  3. Great report Danni,

If you think the kicking was bad last night today my team kicked 10 points no goals, and the best team in the league kicked 5goals 17behinds.

  4. Danielle says

    3- lol thanks jeff :)
    10 behinds, no goals? LOL
    wow, 17 behinds!
you guys need a cheerleader big time!
