Memories Almanac

One of the fabulous things I enjoy reading about on the Almanac site are all the incredible memories that are shared by fellow Almanackers, especially the stories about childhood and rites of passage, not only those about sport but also about music.

While reading Andrew Starkie’s recent story I could not help thinking what a good idea it would be to incorporate many of these stories into a “memories almanac” and as a result I throw the idea forward for consideration.

I reckon it will be a best seller!

    Definitely has potential.

  2. Neil Anderson says

How we started our journey following our teams and still writing about it years later represents the heart of the Almanackery. There would be no shortage of material for any book.

  3. Phillip Dimitriadis says

Wonderful idea, Colin. Would definitely support the concept.

  4. Great idea, Col.

  5. HI Col. Stay tuned. We will be starting something from September. WE have already begun dipping into our 16,000 piece archive. There is much gold to be mined.

But I would also like to hear from those who wanted to write a memoir piece. Send me an email. Or just add something in the comments here.

Or even just post a piece.

As I say, more to come.

  6. Dennis Gedling says

A ‘my favourite season’ like theme would be good. The rule is this favourite season doesn’t feature a premiership (easy for some supporters or certain clubs. Not so much for others).

  7. Mick Jeffrey says

Almost a case of where do we begin, footy or other sport?
