Anzac Day –
our front line
in tatters
Last Post –
pondering for one slow moment
things that might kill us
scattered showers –
no connection between players
and coach
stories of war –
the unthinkable plans
in the coaches’ box
rain drops –
no two blunders
alike
leaves fall –
the game plan
escapes me
trailing badly –
Howe’s mark somehow
beautiful
