Haiku Bob – Round 1 – On holiday

sultry night ~
the heavy defeat
hangs in the trees

Round 1 ~
how soon thoughts turn
to next year

nightfall ~
just like that Collingwood
disappears

first goal of the season
then another, then another!
all to them

waning moon ~
the veteran full-forward
0 kicks, 0 marks, 0 goals

half-time ~
discussing the game plan
the dog chases it’s tail

Holy Saturday ~
we sit in quiet as they march
80 points ahead

turning my back on the game to watch the stars

  1. Wonderful HB. Alas your Travis stats reminded me of Josh Kennedy’s grand final stats. I’m sure he will make amends on Sunday.

  2. HB; so calm after the flogging. I was shattered. Perhaps if the midfield had won some hard ball and it had found its way into the Pie’s forward half more than a handful of times Trav may have had a better night. PB; at least Trav can hold his head up when it comes to finals. 5 in the first half in 2011 before the ball spent most of its time in the Geelong half. Nevertheless, he and many others need to seriously lift intensity.

Watching the stars, is no bad thing.
That might be the highlight this season for some.
Glad to have you back Haiku Bob!
