Haiku Bob: Rising Moon

Spring wind
the game swings
side to side

not seeing
the wind
until Malceski’s kick

fast moving clouds
rioli and jetta
race the wind

swirling breeze
Jetta runs
in all directions

chill wind murmurs of an upset

threatening rain
Buddy’s kick
blown off course

splinters of light
the next goal
might win it

September dusk
blood mixes with sweat
with tears

rising moon
fingers itching
to touch the Cup

sun sets…
the last patch of red disappears
from the ‘G

Love it HB. You are one of the few to pick the level of significance the wind had!

  2. Dave Nadel says

One of your best all year HB….and it wasn’t even about The Pies.

as Dermie said pre-match, it was no ordinary MCG wind.

    thanks Dave.

    HB.

  4. Less is more. Wonderful stuff. Your clarity and elegance has been an inspiration and a retreat from the hoopla all season. Thanks HB.

  5. You’re a legend Haiku Bob – can we expect the collection out in time for Christmas shopping?
