haiku bob – bits and pieces

start of autumn
the game plan already
in bits and pieces

lingering summer
the gaping holes
in our defence

first goal in an hour
how much my life
has changed

nothing left of the light…
one by one
magpies fall silent

final quarter
the sound of the ball
slipping through our fingers

some life remains…
the ruckman
slips and falls

last goal
penetrates
the silence
