About Andrew Gigacz
It might surprise some people that I grew up an Essendon fan. But I was raised in St Albans and West Footscray was on our train line. It took a while but at age 18 the weight of the West prevailed. I hold out strong hopes for the Dogs. I can see that, for Brendan McCartney, 2013 is the second year of his nine-year plan. At least that's MY 2020 vision.

Damn good summary, Gigs.
Super wrap Gigs
Great article Gigs. Really enjoyed the chat at the launch by the way. Could have spoken for hours.
History in the making. Well told Gigs and well done Harmsy and Daff. Time for another Cats cover in 2013! Is the Handicapper in foal Halmsy? We need an omen.
Were the Danihers dairy farmers in Ungarie ?
Sorry above comment should have been for different article.
Terrific article Gigs, I’ve tweeted the link to those who follow me.
Thanks to all for the comments. Most importantly, thanks to John Harms and Paul Daffey for inviting me to become an Almanacker and John Weldon, one of the 2007 originals, who encouraged me to write for the Almanac. Long me the Almanac live!
Damian – look forward to continuing that conversation.
Great idea: the retro almanac.
