flinging shadows

remnants of the sun --
Goddard strikes
the first blow
leaves tumble...
tonight Cloke marking
floodlights flinging shadows --
a hurried snap
for goal
sharp cold --
late goals before the long break
bite the Saints
autumn stars
Daisy shakes the tag
swooping for crumbs --
Krakouer snags a couple
a small crack opens
on the half-back line --
Leon flies out
the odour
of rotting leaves
Riewoldt goalless again

  1. Beautiful HB.

Leon deserves his own haiku, I reckon.

  2. HB – very nice. Leon does deserve his own Haiku.

Call it “Hidden flanker, kickless dragon”.

  3. haiku bob says:

    thanks gents

Leon has been the subject of many over the years. good to see the old dog with a new trick.

  4. PLEASE, Dips. That sledge is SO 2010.
