DA’s Clue of the Round (13)

by David Astle

Something a bit different this week – a puzzle in piecemeal. Today is Part One – being four past or present AFL players. Your challenge is to spot the connection, which has zip to do with their playing careers, club or position. In fact only true all-round sports nuts will win the day.

Feel free to speculate in the Comments below, stumbling on spoilers if you’re lucky, and come tomorrow, if nobody has nailed the link, then three more eligible players will be added at DA’s website: www.davidastle.com

Leo Barry

Daniel Wells

Jeff Farmer

Max Bailey

Part Two on Thursday at www.davidastle.com

Solution to DA’s Clue of the Round (12): Popular ski brand, Rossignol (Valentino ROSSI and Michael LONG)

Comments

  1. Hmmm. BARRY Michael, WELLS Fargo, BAILEY’s Circus. Some sort of US western circus boxing troupe? But how does FARMER fit in?

  2. That’s the spirit, Gigs. A shot of lateral thinking – aloud – will always help the team sneak closer to the goal.

  3. Andrew Fithall says

Something to do with drinks. Bar. Well. Round. And then we have spirit and shot.. Aloud – shout.

    My head hurts.

  4. They all won the high jump at school?

  5. Not a jot of bio is needed, Dips. Though a fair grasp of the sporting world will help.

  6. Andrew Fithall says

On DA’s wesite, the following players have been added:

Cameron Ling (all the more eligible for being a ranga!)
    Rocket Eade
    Tom Logan

And one of his contributors (who are obviously a lot smarter than we Almanackers) asked if Adam Goodes could be added to the list and DA has confirmed he could be.
