blood and innards

It was midsummer this week in Sweden. Haiku Bob spent the weekend at the family’s summer house north of Stockholm on an island called Vätö. Beautiful spot. Went on a fishing expedition while the Pies and Swans slugged it out. The Pies got the points and we brought home the herring (about 60 0f them!)

fish not biting –

points fill the space

between goals

a herring nears the surface —

Daisy leaps

above the pack

thick cloud cover Toovey all over his man

changing sides

in the fishing boat —

our kicking gets worse

not so much as a twitch – Cloke gun barrel straight

dwindling light —

our lead

almost gone

fishing ‘in the dark’ —

imaginary goals

get us home

blood and innards

on the empty hook —

we get away with a win

final scores

texted through —

the water calms
