Almanac/Odd Friday Lunch: Anson Cameron this week (May 25)

The next Footy Almanac (and Odd Friday) Lunch will be with Anson Cameron.

Anson Cameron is a writer, humourist and columnist for The Age. He was born (1961) and brought up in Shepparton, but went to Geelong Grammar. He has written numerous critically acclaimed novels including – Silences Long Gone (about Aboriginal Land Rights), Tin Toys, Confessin’ the Blues, The Last Pulse (a very funny story about the Rivers of Australia), Lies I Told about a Girl, BoyHoodlum (an unreliable memoir about growing up in Shepparton), Stealing Picasso (a fiction about the actual theft of a Picasso from the National Gallery of Vic in 1986) and Here is a Boar’s Left One. Anson is a very funny man, with many stories. Along with John Harms hosting this should be another very entertaining Footy Almanac lunch.

Lunch will kick off around 1:05PM, if you’re keen on attending please call the North Fitzroy Arms (9486 4501) or send an email to: [email protected]

Comments

  1. How does this guy look so young and pretty? More importantly, what the hell are we going to talk about?

  2. Anson,

Did you also select the menu?
Wow. Pubs have come a long way since “Chicken parma or Porterhouse steak”!

  3. Smokie,
Cats supporters will be sticking with Humble Pie a la mode this week.

  4. Got no idea who this bloke is, but if his talk is in a pub that serves bitterly cold Carlton Draught then I’m there.

When I was a kid there was an ice cream shop that sold anson flavoured ice cream I’m sure?
