Almanac Music: Rick Kane and Culture Club

Rick Kane first heard Do You Really Want To Hurt Me? many years ago. The moment still resonates.

This Soundcloud recording of Rick recalling that moment, accompanied by The Stereo Stories Band, is from a show at the Willi Lit Fest in 2015.

This year Rick presented the story at the Newport Folk Festival in Melbourne, dedicating the story to marriage equality and the Safe School’s program. Pour yourself a cuppa and have a listen.

  3. Cheers V Maskell,

    I’ve read the Waterloo Sunset.

    Good stuff.

    Thanks again.

  4. Cheers Rick and Vin. What an elegant and soulful singer is B. George.

Really enjoyed the context of your tale too, Rick- the local, the global and the familial.

    Happy Christmas!

  5. Thanks Mickey. My brother Peter, on vocals with The Stereo Stories Band as they accompanied Rick, knew he couldn’t emulate Boy George!
