Teenage quick Sean O’Dwyer, making his first grade debut for the West Torrens Eagles against East Torrens beats the bat of Reds’ captain Michael Cranmer.
Sean is the son of Shepparton association quick, eight-game Melbourne Demons footballer and 122-game Woodville and Eagles stalwart Des.
Des, after 18 years away from cricket, got back involved at Adelaide Turf league.
He played at the Woodville South and Fulham and only just recently retired in his 50s.
Des, who watched his son collect his first wicket at first grade level on day one of the annual Quinn/Isaac Cup match, suggested the current generation’s actions and technique is a lot more fluent that the old man’s was.
Great action shots Peter,Sean is a quality young man and a credit to Lorraine and Des ( always appreciate
Sean’s and Lorraine’s comments on various articles on the site ) Des is 1 of the great blokes I have had the pleasure to meet thru sport coming over to Norwood from Melbourne originally always engaging with supporters and rapt to have kept in contact ever since, the king of the Oaks tavern you and Lorraine correctly are proud of Sean all the best with your cricket and life in general,Sean
( I reckon we are about even on the cricket field,Des but I can claim I dismissed for a globe )
